Robert Fantinatto, director of I Dream Of Wires, to speak at MOOGFEST
Robert Fantinatto, director of I DREAM OF WIRES, will be speaking at this year's MOOGFEST. Other speakers include Giorgio Moroder and Laurie Anderson. Performers include Pet Shop Boys, Kraftwerk 3D, M.I.A., Flying Lotus, Moderat, Com Truise, etc.
After studying astrophysics,Fantinatto made a drastic change in career paths, receiving a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Film Production from York University. His early interest in science has since influenced his entire professional career; in 2011 Fantinatto began to notice an explosion of interest in the world of modular synthesizers and having been involved in electronic music during the 1980s he was intrigued by how computers and digital keyboards were in the process of being replaced by equipment long thought to be obsolete. Fantinatto bought his own modular system and was drawn into the ever-expanding group of musicians who have shunned modern technology for these reborn instruments. I Dream of Wires is the natural combination of Fantinatto's musical and film background and talents, and premiers at Moogfest 2014.
