Brooklyn screening of Bad Brains "Live at CBGB 1982" with Darryl Jenifer Q&A
Tonight at Nitehawk Cinema (36 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn) the film capturing one of the most iconic hardcore punk and reggae bands at the height of their career in 1982, comes back to life. Released by MVD Entertainment Group, BAD BRAINS LIVE AT CBGB follows the pioneering band, BAD BRAINS, during a three-day residency at one of New York’s most historic venues. The shows took place shortly after the release of their debut self-titled album.
As part of Nitehawk’s MUSIC DRIVEN series, viewers will relive the Washington D.C. band’s soulful tunes and complex legacy which features New York performances from two separate films: My Picture in the Movies, Baby 1979 (Courtesy of Afropunk) and Live at CBGB (1982). Following the screening, Bad Brains’ bassist, Darryl Jenifer, will sit with music industry veteran, Sacha Jenkins, for an intimate Q&A.
