Eddie & the Hot Rods - US Tour
Arriving during the waning days of pub rock, Eddie & the Hot Rods helped usher in punk rock in the United Kingdom. Working from the same bluesy, Stonesy three-chord foundation as contemporaries like Dr. Feelgood, the Hot Rods were faster, tougher, wilder, and louder than any other pub rock band. They also celebrated adolescent abandon, unlike their peers, who usually concentrated on working-class subjects. Developing a substantial cult following by touring the pub circuit relentlessly, Eddie & the Hot Rods, with their fast, tough rock & roll, made the pub rock taverns more willing to book wilder acts like the Damned and the Sex Pistols, thereby firing the first shot in the U.K. punk revolution.
Eddie & the Hot Rods will be touring the US in October with Dime Runner, a punk rock band from Long Beach, CA. Dates include:

On August 20th 2005 Eddie & the Hot Rods held a 30th birthday gig at the London Astoria to bring to a close their tour for the album "Better Late Than Never". This live concert features the band playing all their hits and more to a rapturous audience, including Teenage Depression, Quit This Town and Do Anything You Wanna Do. Eddie and the Hot Rods began life in 1976, when four teenagers from Southend on Sea got together and playing their own style of fast energetic rock and roll / R'n'B, were soon a big hit on the London pubrock scene. Catching the eyes and ears of the music press and the major record companies, they went on to have three hit albums and four top forty UK singles including the Top 10 hit 'Do Anything You Wanna Do'. There have been numerous TV appearances worldwide and they have filled almost every major venue in the UK. A success in the USA too, they have toured alongside The Ramones, Tom Petty, The Police, Squeeze, Talking Heads, Dr Feelgood, Nine Below Zero and most recently Status Quo. Still led by the 'very Rock n Roll' Barrie Masters, for the last 15 years the band have been playing all over the world and continue to attract a loyal following.
Whether they were in the studio together jamming for their latest release or belting out their pure unadulterated punk rock to thousands of people on one of their many worldwide tours, Eddie & The Hot Rods have amassed a loyal following over the past four decades and have come to epitomise true British pub rock. 2 Sides takes the best of both worlds, blending together ten live tracks from the Hot Rods' world tours with ten studio tracks taken from a selection of recent albums. This previously unreleased compilation CD contains the Hot Rods' unique and live cover versions of such classics as The Who's The Kids Are Alright, Them's Gloria and Sam The Sham & The Pharoahs' Wooly Bully, as well as their greatest hits, including Do Anything You Wanna Do, Quit This Town and Teenage Depression. Formed in Essex, London in 1975 by Barrie Masters et al, the band helped usher in punk rock in the UK and was known for its wild energy on stage.
