MVD welcomes BMC Records
BMC Records was founded in Budapest, Hungary in 1998, its catalogue has by now surpassed 230 releases in the contemporary, classical and jazz genres. Majority of the albums have an accent on Hungarian composers and/or performers, but there are numerous records with contributions of outstanding international artists, as well. The mission of BMC Records is to keep traditional musical values alive by exciting new renditions as well as to present mature contemporary music, let it be composed or improvised. Over the years BMC Records built up an international recognition for a number of Hungarian artists and initiated successful collaborations between Hungarian and international musicians, workshops and orchestras. A Grammy nomination, numerous awards (MIDEM, ECHO German Record Award, Diapason d'Or, Price of German Record Critics, Choc de Classica, The New York City Jazz Record - best artwork, etc.), highest ratings in prestigious magazines like Gramophone, The Record Geijutsu, International Record Review, ClassicsToday, Scherzo, Citizen Jazz, Jazzwise, Jazzman, etc., as well as over two thousand reviews in the international press prove that BMC Records has become an important participant on the European and international music scene.
