Reissue of the seminal dub album, from Nick Manasseh, one of the country's prime roots crusaders. For over 20 years Nick Manasseh has been in the thick of London's roots reggae scene as DJ, producer and radio presenter, watching the music which first gripped British youth in the mid 70s thrive, mutate and, ultimately, turn into the worldwide phenomenon which has led him into an array of different projects. Maybe strangely, Nick got his first recording break from two DJ-producers about to make a name for themselves in the aftershock of acid house. Former Killing Joke bassist Youth and DJ Alex Paterson shared the same long-standing passion for reggae and, while DJing at acid house clubs, witnessed how the new movement was throwing up new independent labels similar to how they remembered from punk. It came as little surprise when the pair started their own record label, which they named WAU! Mr Modo [The WAU stood for What About Us!, Mr Modo was business-handler Adam Morris].
