Alina Rostotskaya's music can be described as an acoustic fusion of Jazz, Russian folk, and Classical music. Rostotskaya has won, or was among the finalists, of several international jazz competitions: Moscow Jazz Vocalists Competition (Grand Prix), Voicingers (Poland, 2nd prize), Riga Jazz Stage (Latvia, 3rd prize and Special prize), Nõmme Jazz (Estonia, Special prize). In 2013, Alina was part of the unique reality TV competition, Big Jazz (Russian Culture Channel,) where she got to the very last round of the seven-step competition. Since the late 2000s, Alina has worked with her own band, Jazzmobile. She experiments with differing styles, sings both in Russian and English, and experiments with various techniques of instrumental singing (without words) ranging from jazzy scat to modern classical 'vocalese'. Alina Rostotskaya and Jazzmobile now present their debut album "Flow" which includes seven pieces in diverse styles and moods, from Russian and Sephardic folk tunes, to Alina's original songs in Russian, and pieces featuring instrumental singing. Recorded at the Mosfilm studio in Moscow, the album was mixed and mastered by the legend of European jazz studio sound, Jan Erik Kongshaug, at Rainbow Studio in Oslo, Norway. "Alina's voice is unique. I mean not just her physical voice but also her artistic voice; that of a truly independent creative personality. Rostotskaya is in fact, a truly independent artist with an original approach and individual sound - an approach and sound that we acknowledge on first hearing and appreciate forever after". Cyril Moshkow, Editor, Jazz.Ru Magazine In the Jazzmobile band is among other musicians the great LRK Trio that has a release on its own on Losen Records: LOS 186-2 If You Have A Dream (2018)
