While love songs dating from the late 1950s and early 1960s have rarely been as popular as they are today, when the same hits from yesteryear again and again clog up compilation CDs and achieve heavy rotation on oldies stations, the thrill of the groove, the comforting appeal and nostalgic allure become diluted and ultimately lost - no matter how well crafted such compositions are.
