This DVD contains two classic James Stewart films: Made For Each Other (93 minutes) and Pot O' Gold (86 minutes). James Maitland Stewart (1908-1997) was an iconic stage and film actor and appeared in many different genres, from comedies to suspense thrillers; from biographies to westerns. He is probably best known for his modest persona while on the screen, and by his trademark familiar drawl whenever he spoke. MADE FOR EACH OTHER: Stewart stars as a young lawyer in this romantic comedy, who meets and marries a girl (Carole Lombard) after knowing her only one day. Problems arise, however, when he takes her home to meet his disapproving mother, and rapidly become worse as their first year is plagued by financial difficulties, illnesses and general hardships. Through all the turmoil, their love for each other stays strong as they prove that some couples are simply "made for each other". POT O' GOLD: After Jimmy's (Stewart) music shop closes down, he goes to work for his uncle - an avid music-hater. Jimmy soon befriends an Irish family who are musicians, and who infuriate his uncle. After providing them with venues at which they can perform gigs, he tries to reconcile the family with his uncle, while at the same time earn the love and respect of their daughter Molly (Paulette Goddard).
