The Moulin Rouge cabaret first opened its doors in 1889, just as the centenary of the French Revolution. The Mill, entirely covered in red, served as the establishment's landmark. Internationally known for shows and the French Cancan, the Moulin Rouge quickly became the symbol of Parisian partying.
