By 1979 the Ramones' popularity had swelled to such an extent that Hollywood came calling. The feature film Rock 'n' Roll High School, starring the group, was a story of two teenagers' quest to get tickets for a local concert and the dramatic lengths they would go too to achieve their ambition. It helped in cementing the band's reputation of the time as America's finest punk band. Three years on from the group's stunning debut record, these Long Island reprobates were at the absolute pinnacle of their success, having already provided near exclusive influence for the first wave of British Punk acts and were, along with Blondie, the most recognisable and best known of the New York Set. On February 26th, 1979, the classic line up of Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee and Marky took to the stage at the Second Chance Saloon in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as part of their Road To Ruin Tour, performing a lengthy set (a welcome rarity at Ramones' shows of the time) and playing cuts from all of their first five albums - the newest of which had yet to be recorded. This stunning CD captures the full show performed in true Ramones style that cold winter night more than 30 years ago as it was, broadcast live on WBCN FM Radio. In addition to the main show, seven bonus tracks are included too, all taken from TV broadcasts across the group's career and include cuts from a 1982 TV special, The Tonight Show in 1992 and Letterman Shows in 1991 and 95 respectively.
