Soundtrack for the controversial film about the last days of Kurt Cobain. The score for Benjamin Statler's hit docudrama Soaked In Bleach presents a dark and agitated soundscape. Gut churning feedback underpins Tom Grant's investigative quest. The quieter moments of the film are punctuated with unsettling electronic warbles and hypnotic drones. Eschewing more conventional film score instrumentation, composer and multi-instrumentalist Peter G Adams relies solely on guitars, bass and electronics. From putting paperclips in the strings of his electric guitar, to dragging a broken ebow across an old Fender resonator, Mr. Adams transforms the familiar rock instrumentation. The resulting controlled chaos can be heard on songs like "He's Reaching Out" and "Surveillance." Songs "The Suicide Note" and "Kurt's Best Friend" rely on electronic wash and broken synth pulses to underpin Tom Grant's investigation. Former Boy Hits Car axman Louis Lenard provides additional guitars and his own unique riffing style on "Aberdeen," "Delta's Fine" and "Then I Can Go." An imaginative and hand-crafted effort that fans of the film will rightly appreciate.
