"With A Little help From My Friends" is the first studio album by Volker Kriegel, Germany's best jazz guitarist. The album was produced in 1968 in two parts, side A by Klaus Doldinger and side B by Sigi Loch. The recordings had been vanished for forty years - since 1971 when Liberty Records fell into insolvency. Our first official re-release after this long time presents the complete album of thirty-two minutes playtime and was enhanced by 50 minutes of bonus material from 1968, consisting of performances in Frankfurt at the 11th Deutsches Jazz Festival and from the Hamburg Jazzhouse. This truly exciting bonus material has never been released before. Take for instance the track "Na Na Imboro" from the original album: The version of 8 minutes can be compared to live versions from Frankfurt and Hamburg of 4 and 14 minutes. This year's 10th anniversary of Volker Kriegel's death will see a string of events and receive high media attention. During the course of these events this album will be presented within the jazz scene and all relevant magazines and cultural forums accompanied by fully adequate ads. The extensive booklet is rounded off by texts of jazz connoisseur and editor Wolfgang Sandner who is a respected authority in the scene.
