Richard Weize, the founder of legendary record label Bear Family Records has been awarded with the Verdienstkreuz from the Bundesrepublic of Germany.
That's an Order Of Merit from the Federal Republic Of Germany - A mighty fine reward for some mighty impressive accomplishments.

Richard Weize is a man that have always gone the extra mile to get things done the right way. Few persons in record business can measure up to Richard's skills, persistence and care.
With Bear Family he set the standard for how good record reissues should be done and for how music history should be preserved in general.
