Debut Album from the Post-Atomic Sonic Tribe AGRUSS. Morok", is scheduled to hit the stores the 26th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear accident. Agruss was founded in Ukraine in 2009 and all the members of the band have grown on a land that symbolically reflects today's reality: ancient forests, swamps and rivers surrounded by three old nuclear power plants from the Sovietic era, one of which exploded in 1986, leaving a permanent scar on our planet and in the life of 6 young men.... "Morok" is their desperate scream of frustration, anger and condemnation to the world, and for the world.

Press Quotes

Agruss’ Morok is a mutant blend of Cannibal Corpse, Belphegor, and various hues of bands like Sigh and Drudkh. They are also their own animal, a fresh voice in hell’s choir. Black metal has a stunning new release to add to its canon… from the Ukraine, with despair

     —Todd Lyons, About.com

'Claustrophobically stifling in its extremity and full of indignant hate' 4/5

     —Lee MacBride, Terrorizer Magazine

Distorted, contorted, a malformed monstrous entity, Morok is as ugly as it gets and as beautifully captivating as they come. Highly recommended.

     —Jason Guest, Sea of tranquillity

I shall resist the temptation to force this into a sub genre and instead leave you with one word: Staggering.

     —Pete Woods, Avenoctum

In listening to “Morok”, it feels like you’re staring into the abyss. A man-made, polluted and sulphur-stenched abyss. We’ve reached the end of the line. The apocalypse is here and it sounds like “Morok”. Rating: 96%

     —Lou G., Louciferspeaks.com

Morok is at times thuggishly simplistic, and at other points obtuse and abstract (see the slow-burning murk of 17 minute final track Under the Snow part III). It is thus a deeply multifaceted album that belies its status as a debut. 88/100
