The busy Frankfurt guitarist ALI NEANDER, who is known as a member of the highly successful formation RODGAU MONOTONES and his collaboration with artists such as MOSES PELHAM, SABRINA SETLUR, EDO ZANKI and HELLMUT HATTLER, is one of the most accomplished musical crossover artists between jazz and rock. For the forthcoming release "Digital Shaman" he has teamed up with the New York keyboardist PRESTON VISMALE (including musical supervisor on SPIKE LEE's "Mancolm X") to redefine the boundaries between rock, jazz, funk and world. Whether acoustic chamber jazz, gripping jazz rock, Caribbean wink or Zappaesque madness, VISMALE's playfully independent piano style, a successful mixture of calypso, MONK and funkiness harmonizes perfectly with NEANDER's guitar sounds - from jazz rock solo and straight ahead sound to gypsy jazz. The two musicians received top-class support from the Graz saxophone institution HEINRICH VON KALNEIN, the American bass virtuoso AARON GERMAIN and the sought-after drummer ANDREAS NEUBAUER (GLASHAUS, RINGSGWANDL, ANDRÉ HELLER, TANGO TRANSIT, LAITH AL DEEN). "Digital Shaman" is an album full of surprises that breathes new life into the "fusion" genre.
