The brand new album of the British success formation BIG BIG TRAIN feat. AIDAN O'ROURKE (LAU) transfers classic progressive rock sounds into the present. "Common Ground" is released as a CD in hardback book format as well as a double vinyl edition on ENGLISH ELECTRIC / PLANE GROOVY. Founded in 1990 in Bournemouth, the British formation BIG BIG TRAIN advanced with their twelve studio albums (in addition to various singles / EPs and three live albums) to internationally successful protagonists of the progressive rock genre. Thus, the album "Grimspound" released in 2017 by the multi-award-winning group (4-time winners of the Progressive Music Awards) reached #1 in the UK rock charts and #45 in the official UK album charts. Two years after their last successful album "Grand Tour", the band, which had already collaborated with XTC guitarist DAVE GREGORY several times in the past, comes up with a new longplayer. Already eagerly awaited by fans and recorded last year in PETER GABRIEL's Real World Studios, among others, the band around singer and flutist DAVID LONGDON proves with "Common Ground" most impressively that they belong to the innovative spearhead of contemporary UK prog. Inspired by the fascinating sound worlds of early GENESIS and YES, the band succeeds in creating a highly independent work full of emotional power, freshness and liveliness. The result is nine breathtaking tracks, including the 15-minute epic "Atlantic Cable". They were supported in the recording process by violinist AIDAN O'ROURKE and Scottish folk pioneers LAU, among others.
