OVERVIEW: Blossom Death is a Greek Southern Gothic Metal band. They are noted for being one of the first bands within this region that tried to mix the sound of Southern Rock with the melodies of Gothic Metal and create a more European type of Southern Gothic music without losing its original American identity. Formation The band was formed in late 2018 in Varkiza, Athens, Greece by the former frontman/lyricist of Sorrowful Angels Kostas Katoikos, his wife Marita Makaronidi and the drummer Argy Deligiannopoylos. A few days later the lead guitarist Manos Gonidakis entered the band when the bass player of Blossom Death Kostas Katoikos asked him to come over his house and try to play the song "I will remain" from the American Southern Rock Band Hogjaw. Musical style and influences Blossom Death is considered as a blend of Southern Rock and Gothic Metal music which uses lots of elements of Heavy Thrash and Melodic death. Blossom Death influences include Paradise Lost, Metallica, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rotting Christ, Iron Maiden, Nightstalker, Evanescence, Black Stone Cherry, Kyuss, Anathema, Charon, To/Die/For, The 69 Eyes and As I Lay Dying. Discography Early 2019 the band recorded its first songs "All that I want" and "Pad out", produced by Dion Christodoulatos (Sorrowful Angels) of CFN Recordings Studio and they got in touch with Sleaszy Rider, as Kostas had already a collaboration with the label more than 10 years ago, when his band Sorrowful Angels released their debut album "Ship In Your Trip" with the Greek label. The negotiations were easy and the band signed a deal with Sleaszy Rider and they will release their debut mini-cd album "Mistaken" on Friday, 20 December 2019 in Greece and worldwide on 7 February 2020!
