Think country superstars, and you think of the likes of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Bradley Kincaid preceded them all. From the mid 1920s and onwards he had a massive radio fan base and had a successful recording career. There were huge attendances for his public appearances and several of his thirteen songbooks sold over a hundred thousand copies. He was also responsible for preserving numerous folk songs - from America and from Europe and the British Isles. Although a few of his original recordings have appeared on anthologies, he is now largely forgotten. Hopefully this collection will help to redress the balance. It should - his skill, originality and musicianship are as compelling now as they were in the early years of Country music.
