Long considered one of the greatest trumpeters in pre-war Jazz, Berigan's short, tragic life produced an exceptional body of work. His 1938 hit "I Can't Get Started" caused a sensation in live performance and was to remain his classic. Very little is available on Berigan's short Big Band period, making this CD a welcome addition to any collection. Tracks include "Blue Lou", "Let's Do It", "Swanee River", "The Prisoner's Song" and "A Study In Brown".
