Bible Hill, Nova Scotia-born singer Cindy Church walks a thin line between understated and underwhelming on this, her second album. Jazzy pop (Floyd Tillman's "I Gotta Have My Baby Back"), gospel (Shirley Eikhard's "It's Just a Little Rain"), and uptempo rockabilly (Church's own "Sleeping Alone") are all given the same overly polite country-pop treatment, with sprinklings of pedal steel and the occasional mandolin for embellishment.
