Philadelphia has always been weird and this split 12" release from drum machine freaks DIALER and noisy no-wavers CHRONIC ANXIETY won't do anything but reinforce that fact. The record has been jointly released on Bunny Cat Records - who have brought us fantastic albums from Impressionist, Great Weights, and Love Club - and SRA - the force behind HIRS, FOD, Soul Glo, Psychic Teens, and so much more - and it very much feels like the collision of those two worlds. The word salad attached to this sort of thing mostly repeats variations on the theme of 'PUNK' and so instead of going into that let's cut to the chase: this album is punk as fuck, noisy as hell, and it will make you freak out. DIALER are a glass of liquefied metallic components of obsolete technology, driven by drum machines, radical politics and the dreams and nightmares of the city of Philadelphia. An auditory glimpse into the mania of present day Earth from the interior of a space capsule that is speeding towards Mars. CHRONIC ANXIETY is a 3-piece noise rock band from Philly. Armed only with Hi Boi's fuzzy Fender Bass VI, [Hey "Shy" Boi]'s steady, smashing drum beats, and Ambr (no e)'s half-screamed vocals, they create an uneasy atmosphere that still makes you want to dance.

Press Quotes
Philly's DIALER was not what I expected, and this this shit is top notch! Spacey sounding punk that is intesntional, but also wild feeling and pissed as fuck.
—Greg Harvester, MAXIMUMROCKNROLL
DIALER provides a jarring shock to the system...Roaring vocals vent as the instruments stir and smack; the in-your-face tone forces one to take notice/bear witness.
—THE DELI
For those of you like me who feel as if most of the synthpunk/post-punk/etc coming out in the last couple years has felt pretty stale, formulaic, and disingenuously/performatively 'weird,' DIALER might give you the kick in the ass you've been looking for.
—Joey, CVLT NATION
My only gripe with this DIALER cassette is that it's only a few songs and I have no idea how long I'll need to wait to hear more.
—Theresa W., RAZORCAKE
'The Philadelphia trio, [CHRONIC ANXIETY] is shouting, shrieking and banging things for you, channeling workplace frustration and modern-world angst into an unrelenting howl...'
—Matt Fritch, Magnet Magazine
'[CHRONIC ANXIETY]...Their blunt honesty and relentless energy feel totally fresh, and totally Philly.'
—Sarah Hojsak, WXPN THE KEY
'[CHRONIC ANXIETY]...what a band name. The tension it evokes is evident in the loud urgency of their songs, but in a way that makes listening more cathartic than anxiety-inducing.'
—Sarah Hojsak, WXPN THE KEY
'[CHRONIC ANXIETY]...Lo-fi lady-fronted noise punk tracks. A Must Have.'
—Matt Nauseous, Clean Nice Quiet Blog
