Live performance holds a special place in every musician's career. It's the culmination of a journey that begins in solitude, where artists meticulously craft their music in the confine of their own space.
EYOT, a band hailing from the heart of South Serbia, embodies the essence of live music. Their sound thrives on the stage, where it comes to life in ways that CDs can only hint at.
This compilation album, marking 15 remarkable years of their musical journey, captures these transformative moments. You will hear a selection of recordings from Japan, France, Italy, Russia, the USA, Serbia, Bulgaria, Germany, Romania, Switzerland and North Macedonia.
EYOT, originating from Nis in Serbia, represent the hunger of young musicians for a fresh, new sound that not only blends jazz culture, sophisticated classical piano, earthy elements of Eastern European folk, and a touch of refined electronic fusion but intelligently and vibrantly intertwines them. In 2009, they were one of the three winners of the Umbria Jazz Balkanic Windows Competition. In 2022, they won the GODUM Award for Best Serbian Jazz Band.
Many other national and international festivals followed, including Nišvill Jazz Fest, World of Jazz/Dubai, DOKfest/Munich, Alarma Punk Jazz/Sofia, Veisa Jazz/Saransk, Midem Off/Cannes, Vicenza Jazz Fest, and an Asia Tour.
