Inspired by late night listens to the likes of Prince, ELO, and Roxy Music - Empress Hotel is a bedroom recording project-turned full pop ensemble from New Orleans, LA. Stream of consciousness lyrics float through the air and pour from your speakers, dynamic vocal melodies reverberate in your head, and layered male/female harmonies are playful, dosed with vibrant tones of sexuality, effortlessly saluting the glory days of rock 'n roll. Empress Hotel was born out of love for one hit wonders and infectious melodies. Ryan Rogers (Guitarist/Songwriter) and Micah McKee (Singer/Songwriter) would get together after work and share song ideas and listen to their favorite songs, these initial bedroom recording experiments gave us the song "Empress Hotel" and "Holly." Ryan's brother Eric Rogers (drummer) knew these songs deserved more attention; he shared the rough recordings with TJ Lipple from the band Aloha. TJ was immediately thrilled to be a part of the project, and agreed to produce/engineer the band's debut record, Heavy Halo. Heavy Halo comes alive with the craft of pure, youthful, pop soul.
