As a political refugee Eugen also crossed national borders: He found a home in Germany and the breeding ground for his international success. Eugen Cicero showed up in Germany and was an immediate sensation! By his mid-20s Eugen had made it, he was famous. Even though he was absent for long periods of time, Eugen had a decisive influence on his son's life. And despite the painful early loss Roger found his way, his musicality - his own personality. Throughout his life he dealt intensively with his father, emulated him, allowed himself to be measured against him and unflinchingly found himself: As a singer who eventually reached an audience of millions across all age groups and backgrounds. A phenomenon, like his father - in a different way. Roger worked hard, kept his feet on the ground and continued to inspire musicians and fellow singers beyond his tragic death.
