There isn't much more to be said about GG Allin that has not already been said and most of what you have heard is all true. We always felt that some of GG's strongest material was his acoustic songs, so we approached him about doing a full-length acoustic record back in 1991. Working through the ideas, a country style album seemed fitting. The result is what became "Carnival Of Excess." Recorded in Tampa Fla. during the sweaty summer of 1991 while under the influence of extreme alcohol and more... these recordings were made to please no one. These country recordings are unlike anything he has done before and feature GG's rendition of the classic Warren Zevon song "Carmelita". GG also does an acoustic version of "Pick Me Up (On Your Way Down)" made famous by Patsy Cline. These are some of the final recordings GG made before he died. GG was extremely pleased with all of the work that we did with him and singled out Carnival Of Excess as his favorite recording: His words...not ours.
