Five years after the bewitching "Hors Sol", the reunionese Carlo de Sacco and his band of seed sowers come back with "Zamroza": a terrestrial, cosmic record, which once again celebrates a song without borders, a Creole song, full of rage and tenderness.. Grèn Sémé adds new colors to the palette of French song.
To make his hybridizations, his daring interbreeding, flourish, Carlo found playmates, gardeners to his (un)measurement. First there are his faithful companions: Mickaël Beaulieu on keyboards, Bruno Cadet on guitars. And then, from Hors Sol, his path crossed that of two new acolytes - Germain Lebot (drums, percussion, charango, kamele N'Goni, guitars...) and Rémi Cazal (programming, synthesizers...). With this new team, the composition had never been so collegial, shaped by five musicians, united like the fingers of the hand. For three years, the boys searched tirelessly for their sounds, their words... And locked themselves away for a month and a half, in a kind of creative marathon, in the MDC Prod studios, in Saint-Louis, southwest of the island, to give birth to this record that they produced from A to Z. From this collaboration, emanates a massive, powerful sound, which also plays, virtuoso, with a rainbow of nuances and a shimmering of influences skilfully intertwined: maloya, Indian music, electro, rock, French song, tribal trance...
The songs of the album, all different, are linked by the same flavor, the same so recognizable perfume - that of the "zamroza" which gives its title to the album, these small wild fruits with a rose taste, similar to guava trees which grow in the ravines of the island or in Mafate.
This record is intended to be a celebration of small treasures, small precious moments of life, a connection to the cosmos, as revealed on the cover of the record, and to the earth, an ode to the infinitely small as well as to the infinitely large...
