Saxophonist Gebhard Ullmann and pianist Hans Lüdemann, both prominent figures in the German jazz scene, joined forces to explore microtonality in their collaboration, mikroPULS. The acronym PULS represents the family names of the band members: Ullmann, Lüdemann, Eric Schaefer, and Oliver Potratz.
