BAND BIOGRAPHY IMPERIOUS was formed by vocalist/bassist Sertorius in 2009, who originally started this band as a solo project. Still, Kalmesh (guitars), Iluaar (guitars) and Linchre (drums) - who knew each other through other projects - joined him and they turned out to be a well-matched team. The first album, "Varus", was released worldwide in April 2011 via Twilight Distribution. Numerous successful club shows and festival appearances followed. After their label and distributor were forced to call it quits, the band was left behind empty-handed. IMPERIOUS was wounded, but not dead. Free of pressure, IMPERIOUS began translating Homer's "Odyssey" into a new musical and lyrical concept. After 3 years of songwriting, recordings and line-up changes - which led to the band reaching a new level of motivation, creativity and effectivity - IMPERIOUS finally held "Tales Of Woe" in their hands. ALBUM INFO With a high attention to detail and Homer's text, IMPERIOUS tells the story of Odysseus, his epic journey, the yearning for his family and his beloved home Ithaca. Epic choruses, powerful rhythms and atmospheric melodies, all framed by elements from various metal genres, contribute to an intense listening experience, which allows the listener to plunge into the story of this odyssey. Putting the focus on the combination of the lyrics, emotion and music was crucial for IMPERIOUS. Numerous guest musicians, guest vocalists and guest narrators all uniquely contribute to the realization of this epic concept.
