Jack Wilkins is a professional saxophonist and the Director of the Jazz Studies Program at the University of South Florida. At USF, he teaches courses in jazz improvisation, jazz styles and analysis, and jazz history, teaches applied jazz performance and directs the USF Jazztet, an internationally acclaimed student jazz ensemble that has performed at the Montreux, North Sea, Vienne and Umbria Jazz Festivals in Europe, and conducted a concert tour of South Africa.

An accomplished jazz saxophonist, Jack Wilkins is a Yamaha Instrument Company clinician, a Fulbright Specialist and a long time member of the faculty of the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshops.

The Rundle Sessions is a project that was part of Jack Wilkins' creative endeavours as the Fulbright Research Chair in the School of Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Calgary for 2017-2018. This was a very fruitful period, which included concerts of his original music in Calgary and Banff, Alberta, collaborations with Canadian and American scholars and artists, and the creation of numerous compositions and multi-disciplinary arts projects. All of the music for The Rundle Sessions was written at his studio at the University of Calgary or as part of his Music Residencies at the Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity to feature a special group of musicians - Alberta jazz masters Chris Andrew and Kodi Hutchinson, along with American artists GRAMMY nominee Sara Caswell, Corey Christiansen, and Michael W. Davis.
