.Most widely known to garage area rock and roll aficionados for his stint using electric guitar with Paul Revere & the Raiders, Jim "Harpo" Valley afterwards enjoyed a flourishing profession building music for kids.
In early 1965 Valley became a member of the Portland defeat combo Don & the Goodtimes, writing lead vocal responsibilities with front man Don Gallucci and composing their strike "Small Sally Tease." A calendar year later, he agreed to join Paul Revere & the Raiders. Nicknamed "Harpo" per his physical resemblance towards the renowned Marx Sibling, Valley relocated to LA, where Revere & the Raiders made an appearance each day over the Dick Clark-produced TV showcase Where the Actions Is.
In 1983 releasing his first genuine children's LP, Rainbow Planet. The task gained a Parent's Choice award, and established the stage for some subsequent initiatives including Friendship Teach, McFiddle DeeDee, and Dinosaur Trip.
Over the years, while growing his record label, Jim toured the world performing for Children in over 35 countries.
In the last few years, he has been adding more adult oriented music to the label including A Garden Faire, Sit upon the Moon and Rolling Sea.
His new album, Toward the Sacred is sure to please his fans, young and old. This is a collection of songs Jim has written and assembled to help calm these troubled times. Those who have been looking forward to Jim Valley's latest release can now be richly rewarded. Jim's strong vocals and harmonies, the great ensemble playing, and deft arrangements are all in service of the CD's message: the elevation of the human spirit, with grace, love, and direction.
