Jimmy Lindsay's biography reads like a great number of other reggae singers of his generation and is a typical example of the development of reggae culture and sounds in Britain. Born in Kingston/ Jamaica in 1950, he lived there for the first nine years of his life until his parents decided to move to England. After taking first steps in soul and rock bands he returned to his Jamaican Reggae roots. At the beginning of the 80's Lindsay toured his new material in Great Britain and Europe and its from this tour that WDR Rockpalast captured one show at the WDR studios in Cologne in spring 1980. Holding the tambourine in his hand Lindsay sets the pace for his band Rasuji - this is an authentic prime example of great British reggae culture.
