The third JSP release for Georgia-born Johnnie Marshall. Here he successfully melds blues with the religious fervor he has always exuded. All his southern blues, rock and soul influences are on display - amplified by guest mentors Eddie Kirkland, Johnny Rawls, and Sonny Rhodes. . It's Johnnie's show, though - he delivers the lead vocals, shares the lead guitar work and provides some rhythm axe. The Nutmeg Horns - saxmen Bruce and Robert Feiner and trumpeter Jamie Finegan provide assured brass support. Everything here is memorable, but the haunting opener, 98¢ In The Bank with Marshall singing and Allen on guitar must represent a high point in the blues of the early 21st century.
