Julio Antonio Montoro Curbelo graduated from the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory in 1991 specialising in guitar. Graduated turn National Laboratory electro -acoustic music. During his studies he participated in various jazz festivals playing with groups formed in the Conservatory. In 1993 he joined the group of singer Mireya Escalante and his Latin Street as a keyboardist, guitarist and musical director. In 1996 he played as part of the group of Kemell y la Barriada as a pianist, participating in several albums and different international tours in Mexico , Holland, France, England, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Bahamas and Sweden. He took part in Expo in Hanover, Germany in 2000. On the 40th anniversary of Ronnie Scott 's Jazz Club in London , he toured the salsa circuit in Europe with several Cuban orchestras such as the Reve, Charanga Habanera , Kemell y la barriada among others. He has performed in many different concert halls and clubs such as New Morning , Java , Paris , France and Malmo in Sweden.
Later he was part of the orchestra Felix Baloy and Afrocuban All stars and recorded 3 albums for Tumi Music. One of the tracks on the first Album Zorro has been used various times by the television network CBS Studio inc. in the serial The Perfect Son´Cane. He later became musical director, guitarist and arranger in the band Tomezclao touring England in 2010 and 2011 and participated in the Glastonbury festival for two years running as well as other festivals such as Africa Oye. He is currently working with Edesio Alejandro and as guitarist with singer Laritza Bacallao . He also recently participated in Brasilia, Brazil, in the Cuba Mucho Gusto festival.
During the same tour he was invited to play with the famous Brazilian pianist Joao Donato Do Club in choro .
