Jumpcuts, founded by Andy Shankman in 2007, after cutting his teeth on the local Baltimore scene. Previously working as a roadie for Lake Trout, Shankman decided to step out of the van and onto the stage. The debut album Electrickery, produced by Rob Girardi who worked with such notable acts as Beach House and Celebration was a musical experiment across a multitude of sound spectrums. Released in 2012 and ultimately resulting in a dark angular synth driven pop dance album that has built Jumpcuts a solid reputation. Since then Shankman has returned to the studio with Mat Leffler-Schulman worked with such notable artists as Future Islands, Dustin Wong, and Us and Us Only, to create his sophomore album Fiber Optic Bondage. This album sees a much matured path for Jumpcuts and a refinement of the dark synth dance sound to an elegant brood of electronic rock.
