Born in Bolivia, South America, Daniel Carbajal was musically influenced by 80s and 90s metal. Self-taught, this EP is Daniel's first published musical work. Originally composed between 2007 and 2008, Daniel began recording in 2009. Starting with the harmonic and rhythmic structure between bass and drums, with accompaniment from a great drummer and friend from college season. After a fruitless search among local musicians to form a permanent lineup, Daniel chose to use session musicians, working online, starting with Nathan Nasby, with whom he began recording Roman at War. Then came Rob Aitken, an English musician who added guitar. To enhance the section on Roman at War that featured brass and woodwind instruments, a trumpet section originally composed on a keyboard was recorded by Donald Malloy and Paul Doolan. The recording time took about six months, from mid 2013 to early 2014. Mixing and mastering was done by German Duran, a Chilean engineer who lives in Bolivia Daniel's immediate plans following this EP release are to finish the arrangements of the remaining songs of his 1st album, and then to of course undertake to record the album. After that, he intends to assemble a live band who can attempt to perform this remarkable and challenging work.
