Nicholas Robert "Nik" Turner (August 26, 1940 - November 10, 2022) was best known as a former member of space rock pioneers Hawkwind. Nik Turner played saxophones, flute, sang, and was a composer. As a member of Hawkwind, Turner was known for his experimental free jazz stylisations and outrageous stage presence, often donning full makeup and Ancient Egypt-inspired costumes.
