In 1978, a year after becoming the first reggae artist signed to Rolling Stones Records, Peter Tosh headlined an intimate concert at My Father's Place in Roslyn, New York. Promoted and broadcast live by local radio station WLIR, the show quickly sold out and the air was electric when the former Wailer took the stage. Backed by his band (Word, Sound & Power), Tosh performed songs from his then-current Bush Doctor album ("Bush Doctor," "Pick Yourself Up"), previous hits ("Legalize It," "Stepping Razor"), and a classic from his time with Bob Marley & the Wailers ("Get Up, Stand Up"), among other selections. Now, RockBeat Records is proud to make this concert available on vinyl for the very first time.

Press Quotes
Every detail of every song comes across with crispness and authority
—Robert Ham, Paste Magazine
If the songs played from Equal Rights are a little lesser than their studio versions, the opposite is (mostly) true of the Bush Doctor selections, which makes Live at My Father's Place 1978 enjoyable if not essential, and of possible interest to those for whom Bush Doctor is a jumping off point.
—Joseph Neff, The Vinyl District
4 stars! Peak-period set with full-spectrum audio recorded for broadcast by local station WLIR this concert album has pristine audio, highlighting the expressive power of Tosh's baritone, Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare's unbeatable rhythm section
—David Katz, Mojo
The resulting sinewy, minimal funk delivers their most purely hip-hop release since breakthrough Black Sunday, with veteran MCs Sen Dog and B-Real on puglistic form throughout.
