Four years after the success of Maggio, Banditaliana, is back with a new album "Argento" celebrating a career spanning 25 years. The quartet, founded in 1992 by the accordion player, Riccardo Tesi, is now one of the most internationally known Italian World Music groups and is composed of Claudio Carboni on sax, Maurizio Geri on guitar and voice, Gigi Biolcati on percussion, voice and gigitarra (a cross between a dulcimer and an electric guitar played with a sushi stick). In perfect balance between instrumental pieces and songs this new album by Banditaliana adds a new leg to their long journey in the imaginary Mediterranean that has always inspired their music. Music that has no borders, where tradition and innovation merge and blend together, with a tribute to occitan singer-songwriter Jean Marie Carlotti and to Gianmaria Testa a close friend of the band who recently passed away. Many guests joined in the celebration of this important event for the group. Paolo Fresu's jazz trumpet, Mauro Pagani's bouzouki, The voices of the women of Bella Ciao (Elena Ledda, Lucilla Galeazzi, Ginevra Di Marco and Luisa Cottifogli) Francesco Magnelli's electric piano, Kepa Junkera's basque txalaparta, and Andrea Piccioni's frame drums have all contributed in embellishing the footprint of this album.
