The darkness is ever-present on Rotten Minds third album 'Fading Into Oblivion'. Ten tracks of eccentric punk expressions that clashes with a cold and nihilistic atmosphere and creates a soulful and personal album. Tracks as 'Years of Decay' and the title track 'Fading Into Oblivion' got an almost gothic approach to its gloominess while at the same time a bright light of hope is tangible. The album also contains classic songwriting with songs such as 'Restless Soul', 'Aspirations' and 'Trouble Child' that gets stuck in your head. A huge amount of integrity surrounds the melancholic melodies of the ten tracks which brings a modern Scandinavian sound to mind. The album finds its greatness in its stripped-down sound and its simplicity. 'Fading Into Oblivion' was just like the debut album "I'm Alone Even With You" recorded by Mattias Kennhed at the Communichaos Media Clay Station. The new album gives you everything you expect from Rotten Mind, and so much more. It´s a combination of the band's debut "I'm Alone Even With You" and their second self titled album. It's an explosion of sounds from the post-punk and garage rock world. Rotten Mind can be found somewhere in a modernized 80´s versatility between UK-acts as The Vibrators, The Adverts, and US-bands as Christian Death and T.S.O.L. It´s a band that at the same time perhaps is best to set side by side with contemporary acts as Crusades, Iceage, Radioactivity, Metz or High Tension Wires. Rotten Mind has been a stand out Swedish act that has been touring constantly. Since the start in 2015, they have been touring numerous times in Europe, as well as Australia, UK, and Sweden. There is no doubt that this band is full of energy and intensity, and it shows in their live shows. As always they mix post-punk, garage rock and power pop perfectly and it has been recognized in music magazines such as NME, Vice, Gaffa, and Hymn.

Press Quotes

The Swedish sad boy sweethearts of Rotten Mind are captivating Europe with their dark, emotional tunes reminiscent of T.S.O.L., Iceage, and Crusades. Rotten Mind satisfies the current cultural cravings for nostalgia with their gloomy melding of New Wave and melodic punk with a surfer twinge.

The melodies are engaging, the edges dark and the hooks rain on down relentlessly as this album burrows into your very soul.

Gefällt sehr gut und fast einen Tacken besser als der Vorgänger.
