SACRED MONSTER is pleased to announce the vinyl release of their first full-length album, "Worship the Weird"! Featuring eight tracks of riff-oriented metal blending influences of doom, thrash, NWOBHM and traditional metal, Worship the Weird takes listeners on a chilling journey through subjects ranging from Stephen King's The Dark Tower ("Face of my Father") to the classic Twilight Zone episode 'Nightmare at 20,000 Feet', and stories devised by the band themselves ("Waverly Hills", "The Wraith"). Following a digital and CD-R release earlier in the year, SACRED MONSTER is excited to partner with ORDO MCM to release a limited-edition gold vinyl version of “Worship the Weird”. Fans of Black Sabbath, Witchfinder General, Orange Goblin and even King Diamond should take note and act fast! Formed in early 2012 out of a mutual love of doom metal acts such as Electric Wizard, Saint Vitus, and Black Sabbath, SACRED MONSTER has gone on to gradually include other influences from across the spectrum of metal to arrive at their current style, focusing on the almighty riff - and occasionally, the sacred cowbell. Their diverse sound has allowed them to open for national acts like EYEHATEGOD, TROUBLE and THE OBSESSED, never failing to entertain the audience and win over fans. SACRED MONSTER’s debut EP “Knowledge” was released in 2014, with the two-track “Monster Double Feature” EP following shortly after in 2015 - but what happened in the last four years? Riff-crafting, mostly, but also a shift from a two-guitar lineup to a single-guitar lineup and an evolution of the band’s sound into a meaner, spookier and faster take on the doom metal genre. Now, their debut LP is the first manifestation of this battle-honed sound: a bold call to doom metal fans to come… and worship the weird.
