SCHWARZER ENGEL was founded in 2007 by Dave Jason. The debut album "Apokalypse" was released in 2010, numerous EPs as well as the studio albums "Träume Einer Nacht" (2011), "In Brennenden Himmeln" (2013), "Imperium I - Im Reich Der Götter" (2015) and "Imperium II - Titania" (2016) followed. The band already shared the stage with bands like AHAB, The Vision Bleak or OOMPH! and appeared at festivals like the Wave-Gotik-Treffen, M'Era Luna Festival or Rockharz Festival. SCHWARZER ENGEL mostly play dark metal, but influences from melodic death metal and symphonic metal as well as classical music are clearly noticeable. With pitch-black wings, the "Lord of Crows" orbits around the earthly chaos, and once again rises to present yet another milestone in the German dark/gothic metal history: "Kult der Krähe". Two years have passed, and SCHWARZER ENGEL now deliver a new piece of black art with their sixth studio album. "Kult der Krähe" features eleven dark hymns, that sound both majestic and brutal. The German metal institution around the charismatic front man Dave Jason impressively shows how dark/gothic metal should sound like in the 21st century: Epic drumbeats and catchy vocal lines meet metal-like guitar riffs and controversial lyrics. Dark Metal and Symphonic Metal meet Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hardness). On "Kult der Krähe", SCHWARZER ENGEL do literally celebrate a cult - and invite us to join them; with our body, mind, soul and full of devotion to music. The impressive "Krähen an die Macht", the insidious "Sinnflut" or the contemplative "Gott ist im Regen" are proof that the album is a varied tour de force and manifests SCHWARZER ENGEL's reputation as one of the leading German dark/gothic metal bands of our time.
