This is the Shirks first release. The Shirks are bringing punk rock back to Washington D.C.. They play revved up, rock n' roll, and all their songs are as catchy as any anthemic punk song ever was. While the song structure strikes a resemblance to the Saints, their songs are performed with an intensity more akin to the Devil Dogs or Teengenerate. The release in question includes the songs ""Dangerous"" and ""Get Out"", which were some of the first songs the band ever played together. As you will attest upon listening, louder is always better, speed is always better, riffs and hooks will always make a great record. A brief history is as follows: One night, among the bar crowd at the Black Cat's Red Room, bass player Kevin Longendyke asked longtime Smash Records clerk and ex-Problematic, Al Budd, about playing in a band. The two swapped phone numbers and after a week or so, a practice time was set up. Along with drummer, Andy Gale, the three got together and played some rock n' roll songs with a shared interest in all things loud, fast and mean. This initial meeting went well, and the three decided to get together again. They kept practicing and writing more tunes, until eventually adding another guitarist, Ned Moffit. The four then decided to play their first show at the Black Cat's 14th anniversary party.
