The idea of using music to sell products is hardly new: King Biscuit Flour Hour on US radio station KFFA in Arkansas was doing it with the blues half a century ago and at least one legendary performer, King Biscuit Boy took his name from those successful shows. These days, it's TV advertisers who most frequently borrow existing tracks to push their products - and when they do, they only choose the very best. Ben E King's "Stand By Me", the title track of this collection, is one such song. It hit Number 1 in Britain in 1987, twenty-five years and 244 days after it first charted.
