In this double feature, Tarzan the Fearless and Tarzan’s Revenge, former Olympians Larry “Buster” Crabbe and Glenn Morris play Tarzan, based on the stories by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Both movies were produced by Sol Lesser, who also produced the Chandu serials that starred Bela Lugosi.In Tarzan the Fearless, Tarzan must rescue Dr. Brooks (E. Alyn Warren), who has been captured by followers of the Midas-like Zar, God of the Jeweled Fingers. Tarzan seeks out the doctor’s daughter Mary (Julie Bishop) for aid. To make matters worse, there is a price on Tarzan’s head, of which many unscrupulous men are aware.A similiar plot plays out in reverse in Tarzan’s Revenge. A young girl named Eleanor (Olympic swimming champion Eleanor Holm) is with her parents (George Barber and famed gossip columnist Hedda Hopper) and fiancé Nevin (George Meeker) on a hunting excursion. She is spotted by evil sheik Ben Alleu Bey (C. Henry Gordon), who wants to add her name to his harem. Alleu Bey kidnaps her and now it’s up to Tarzan to return her to her parents!This Tarzan double feature also includes bonus episodes of the classic serials Radar Men on the Moon and Undersea Kingdom.
