In 2003 The Electric Family' released their 3rd studio album Ice Cream Phoneix on Hypertension. Many guests were present at the recordings, including Ulla Meinecke, Hagen Liebing (Die Ärzte), The Voodoo (Phillip Boa), Burghard Rausch (Agitation Free), Hermann Lammers-Meyer, Carlo van Putten (The Convent), Ingo Yorck and Rainer Kirchmann (both Pankow). The then editor-in-chief of the US music magazine David Fricke wrote the liner notes and noted: "You can get lost in this music". A few weeks after the album was released, the band received an inquiry from the film festival in Schwerin, asking whether they would like to take part in a double event. After the screening of Antonioni's master film Zabriskie Point at the Speicher in Schwerin, they were supposed to present the new album live. The band thought that was a great idea. Now it was a question of putting together a live cast for the event. Keyboarder Volker Kahrs and guitarist Jochen Schoberth were there, they were part of the regular cast from the start. Drummer Hanno Janssen has also been there since the second album "Tender". A new addition was bassist Ben Schadow, who had already participated on the album "Ice Cream Phoenix" and immediately accepted the live story. After a public rehearsal in the Tower in Bremen, The Electric Family stood on stage in front of a sold-out house in the Speicher in Schwerin on May 9, 2003 and experienced a great, unforgettable evening together with the audience. Another highlight of this evening was the appearance of the then festival award winner Mario Adorf backstage, who congratulated the band on the performance. What an evening!
