With Visions Tony Liotta presents his new album on LEOPARD Records. Anchored in the style of the 70s (Soul / R&B) and also following the sound ideal of that time, the "groove" is most important for Tony Liotta. About the making of the new album Liotta says: "I have been friends with the American songwriter and singer Louis Virie Blanche (backing vocals Michael Jackson) for more than twenty years. Both of our musical tastes meet very strongly. When I told him I was planning a new album in the style of the seventies, he was immediately on board. He wanted to release some songs that he had conceived and recorded in the seventies. So it happened that he contributed about half of the songs. Enrico Santacatterina also joined in this way. Of course, we re-recorded and re-arranged everything. But we left some tracks with the great musicians Louis had with him at the time and just played to them." That includes the likes of David Hood, Will McFarlane or Clayton Ivey and Eric Gale and especially the great Dr. John. "I talked to Dr. John (R.I.P.)," Liotta tells "the VISIONS project really excited him and he wanted to do the tour right away. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible. We have lost a great musician. But we are happy to play in his style and somehow have him with us like this. In the same way, we are happy to release some unreleased original sounds of Eric Gale (R.I.P.). So these are the American musicians that we took as they were recorded in their time. That makes the album very authentic and extraordinary." At the age of 6 months, Tony Liotta, who comes from a family of artists, arrived in the United States. At first, the family lived in New York and later in New Orleans. Music ran almost day and night in the Liottas' house. So Tony came into contact very early with jazz and the music of Frank Sinatra, Count Basie and, above all, Buddy Rich, with whom he would later take lessons.
