Bringing together six films, all new to Blu-ray and in brand new restorations, Weird Wisconsin: The Bill Rebane Collection packs in a mutant astronaut bothering blissful sunbathers (Monster A Go-Go), a contagion apocalypse as seen from the vantage point of a remote mountain cabin (Invasion from Inner Earth), deadly alien spores from the rocks of Mars (The Alpha Incident), rural gothic and outright horror (The Demons of Ludlow), an eccentric 'body count' movie (The Game) and a comedy smash-'em up that pits three hillbilly stooges against a talking Monster Truck with artificial intelligence (Twister's Revenge).

Press Quotes

These are essential missing links in the evolution that connects today's indie cinema, B-movie exploitation, and the post-WW2 avant-garde

     —Robin Malloy, Splice Today

Bill Rebane told a good story and offered up a few genuine creeps and as a result his cult reputation has continued to grow over the years

     —Jim Knipfel, Den of Geek

(Bill Rebane) enchanted young lovers and then scared the daylights out of them... In a lot of ways, Bill's story mirrors the American Dream

     —Wormwood Chronicles

One of the finest directors to come out of northwest Wisconsin

     —MST3K

Monster a Go-Go is the darkest side of exploitation filmmaking

     —Psychotronic Review

The hardest working filmmaker most of us have never heard of, and his cinema should affirm to us all that movies... have value. May Rebane, and this set, awaken the inner indie auteur and self-starter in all of us.

     —Andy Crump, Paste Magazine

He's the hardest working filmmaker most of us have never heard of, and his cinema should affirm to us all that movies, even movies as, shall we say, economical as his, have value. May Rebane, and this set, awaken the inner indie auteur and self-starter in all of us.

     —Paste Magazine

For those who are either unacquainted with this kind of delirious "regional" filmmaker, or in fact for those who have already fallen under the sway of "classics", this new collection from Arrow provides a nice selection of Rebane's work, with the typically broad and deep assortment of supplementary material that has become Arrow's stock in trade. Recommended.

     —Blu-ray.com

It's all but impossible to calculate the value of Arrow Video's ongoing interest in spotlighting regional genre filmmaking. Their latest is a noble addition to that tradition, with six features by Mr. Rebane, the writer/producer/director/editor/cinematographer who built his own studio out in the wilds of Wisconsin. His work has an unmistakable sense of enthusiasm and inventiveness, and the divide between his ambitions and his output creates a fascinating tension in these weirdly, wildly entertaining films.

     —The Playlist

Overall, this is an outstanding work of preservation and the hours of contextual materials will arguably be as exciting as the films themselves. If you even think you might like this set, we can almost guarantee that you'll love it.

     —Under The Radar Magazine

Voluminous extras… a straight ahead respectful treatment of films that are pretty direspected in every other corner

     —Mark Nelson, The Cinemaniacs!
