Electrifying garage rock outfit Åskväder are back with their second full-length album, "Fenix". Following the release of their self titled debut from 2020, Sweden's Åskväder returns with a set of 12 tracks. Recorded live in studio, "Fenix" captures the essence of the band's energetic and direct sound. Combining bluesy guitar licks with groovy rhythms and catchy, melodic hooks, "Fenix" brings straight forward, 90's inspired Scandinavian garage rock to the modern day and age. Martin Gut from the band about the new album: The name of the album came because we as a band in many ways hit a big bump in the road after the first album was released. Fenix is the sequel and is a symbol for rebirth. Covid struck and unfortunately we had some changes in our line up which put the band in a tough spot. However with new members and the absence of Covid we have preserved our sound and thoughts about music in general and the music itself has evolved with the contribution of the new members. The songs are recorded live this time, something that really puts a nice vibe to them, in the enriched Welfare Sounds which also has helped us reach our musical vision.

Really good stuff anyway, so there's nothing to complain about. Because this band have lots of good songs here. You should really check them out.

     —Hard Rock Info, http://www.hardrockinfo.com/reviews/2022/march.htm

'Fenix' is an excellent representative of a very vivid Swedish rock scene. Åskväder crafted an album that transports emotions and authenticity. This music is real and comes straight from the heart, both crucial factors for a stellar rock'n'roll record.

     —Markus Heavy Music Blog, https://markusheavymusicblog.org/2022/03/15/review

'Fenix' manages to lift your spirits with songs that are so light-hearted and unburdened that they put a big smile on your face while making you want to rock out at the same time.

     —Reflections of Darkness, https://www.reflectionsofdarkness.com/artists-a-e-

Most of the songs are short, sweet, and anthemic in nature. The album is mixed clean, soaked in melody, and chock-full of memorable choruses and harmonies, which makes for a lot of upbeat fun.

Askvader got in a time machine, and they came back with a better record than most of their peers
